The most widespread language in the Republic of Macedonia is the Macedonian language. Albanian along with the Macedonian language is an official language on a national level. In municipalities where there exist minority languages of more than 20%, the minority language is also official. Those are Serbian, Romani, Bosniak and Turkish. Most of the people in the country speak Macedonian, about 66.5%. About 25.4% of the country speaks Albanian. Other languages spoken are Turkish, about 3.9%[https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/mk.html], Serbo-Croatian is also about 1.8%, and 2% of the population speaks other languages. Also, many young people speak English as a second language and some older people speak Serbian and Russian as a second language.
