The European University Association (EUA) is the main voice of the higher education community in Europe. As of 15 April 2005, EUA has 760 members in 45 countries across Europe. The association's main objectives are the harmonisation of European higher education and research, for instance through the Bologna process. The association merged in 2001 from the Association of European Universities and the Confederation of European Union Rectors' Conference, which took place in Salamanca, Spain.
