Geography
History
Khulna is named after a goddess of the Hindu religion, Khulleshwari. In 1947, the district of Khulna had a Hindu majority of 52%.Economy
Khulna is a port city. Mongla is the second sea port of the country. In Daulatpur there are several jute mills.By riverway it is connected to other parts of the country which play a vital role in its economy. It is also famous for fishing industry. There is a salt factory.Places of interest
The largest mangrove forest in the world. Here you can find the royal bengal tiger, a beautiful tiger, by seeing it you can understand what a tiger means. you can find many rare animals here, including: monkeys, chitra deer, crocodile, wild cock, wild pig and thousands of kinds of birds.In Bagerhat there is famous shatgombuj (sixty pillars) mosque. It is a historical important place to see. Also famous for Khan Jahan Ali,s mazar. There is a lake there which has got crocodiles.
