The Simpsons' 19th season (2007 - 2008) began airing on Fox on September 23, 2007.[1] It is the first season after The Simpsons Movie and contains seven hold-over episodes from the Season 18 (JABF) production line. Al Jean will serve as the Executive producer, a position he has held since the thirteenth season.

Season 19 included guest appearances by Stephen Colbert, Lionel Richie, Placido Domingo, Maya Rudolph, Matt Dillon, Steve Buscemi, Ted Nugent, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Other guest appearances in the season include Alan Moore, Jon Stewart, Dan Rather, Keith Olbermann, Kurt Loder, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Dan Clowes, Art Spiegelman, Jack Black, Kelsey Grammer, David Hyde Pierce, John Mahoney, Glenn Close, Beverly D'Angelo, Topher Grace, Terry Gross and Amy Winehouse.

Homer becomes an enormous celebrity, especially with the ladies and while running from a mob of crazed fans, Homer is saved by a mysterious woman named Julia, who has questionable intentions.

Homer ends up having his car towed by a tow truck driver named Louie who introduces Homer to the joy of towing cars for a living.   • "Mr. and Mrs. Simpson" - Homer secretly lives a double life as a secret agent and is assigned to eliminate Kent Brockman, discovering that Marge is also an agent with the same mission.
  • "E.T. Go Home" - Bart and Lisa find Kodos, who is hiding from the government, and help him obtain devices that he can use to contact his home planet, but Kodos's intentions prove to be less than friendly.
  • "Heck House" - Bart, Lisa and some other kids pull pranks on Halloween night and, after they go too far, Ned Flanders turns the church into a Hell house. Gaining supernatural powers from God, he subjects the kids to his wrath.[4]

Milhouse's parents are lost at sea and presumed dead, so Milhouse decides it’s time to begin acting like a real man. As a result, he has a new attitude which makes him more popular than ever and Bart can't stand that Milhouse has become cooler than him. Meanwhile, Homer finds himself in trouble when he can’t remember the color of Marge’s eyes.

Known plots

  • In an episode that will air in February of 2008, there will be a trilogy episode featuring three separate stories, each with a Valentine's Day theme.[11] One story will be a "Sid and Nancy" flashback where Nelson is Sid Vicious, Lisa is Nancy Spungen and Bart is Johnny Rotten from the Sex Pistols.[12]
  • Matt Groening: There will be a Prison Break episode in the near future "with tattoos and everything!"[13]
  • Al Jean: "We have Jon Stewart coming up later in a political show where they move Springfield's primary to first in the nation and the candidates come and invade the town and the town is so disgusted, they all write in 'Ralph Wiggum'."[14] Dan Rather will also guest star in the episode.[14]
  • Michael Price: "We have a great episode that's set as a flashback to the '90s where Homer forms the first grunge band."[14]
