"Something to Talk About" (written by Canadian singer-songwriter Shirley Eikhard) is a song recorded by Bonnie Raitt that was popular in the 1990s. The song was popular on multiple formats of radio: the blues feel of the song helped the song peak at Number 5 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart, the guitar solo helped the song peak in the Top 20 of Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart, and the success of the songs on both of the previously mentioned charts, along with a good number of sales, helped the song "Something to Talk About" peak at Number Five on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is among one of Bonnie Raitt's most popular songs, along with "I Can't Make You Love Me". It is Raitt's only entry in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.
The song has been performed numerous times on American Idol, including by Fantasia Barrino in season 3, Kellie Pickler in season 5 and Sanjaya Malakar in season 6. Sanjaya changed "how about love" from the chorus to "other than hair" during his farewell performance.
