Nancy Dow (born July, 1936) is an American actress, who appeared in a brief group of films and was the first wife of John Aniston and the mother of Jennifer Aniston.
Dow was born in New York, New York; the daughter of Gordon McLean Dow and Louise Grieco Dow[1]. She was married to Greek-American actor John Aniston and is also the mother of Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Jennifer Aniston. She is the younger sister of Joan Dow and Jean Dow, and the older sister of Linda Dow, Martha Dow and Sally Dow. She is also the mother of John T. Melick.
Her mother was Italian and her father was mostly of English and Scottish descent.
She and her daughter Jennifer Aniston became estranged for nearly a decade, because she talked about her famous daughter on a tv show and later wrote a book titled "From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir" (1999)[2]. In 2005, after Jennifer Aniston's divorce from Brad Pitt, mother and daughter reconciled.[3]
