Mel Lazarus (born Mel Fulton, May 3, 1927–) is a cartoonist and creator of two popular comic strips, Miss Peach (1957-2002) and Momma (1970-present). He won the National Cartoonist Society Humor Comic Strip Award for 1973 and 1979, and their Reuben Award for Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year in 1981 for his work on Miss Peach.

Early in his career he was an assistant to Al Capp on the strip Li'l Abner. He is the author of two novels, The Boss is Crazy, Too (inspired in part with his experiences with Capp) and The Neighborhood Watch. He served as President of the National Cartoonists Society (which awards the Reuben) for two consecutive terms from 1989 to 1993.
