Information about Jughead Magazine
The Jughead Comic Book Magazine Series is a spinoff from Archie Comics featuring Archie Andrews's best friend Jughead in his own stories.
Jughead first appeared in Pep Comics #22 in 1941 and later grew into his own title 'Archie's Pal Jughead Comics' in 1949. Archie and friends would also guest-star. Most stories show how Jughead pigs out on food, avoiding Big Ethel who has a crush on him and outsmarting nemesis Reggie Mantle. A one-shot titled 'Jughead's Folly' was published in 1957 and features Jughead as Elvis. It is one of the rarest of all Archie comics and is popular due to the Elvis reference. 'Archie's Pal Jughead Comics' was shorted to 'Jughead' with issue #122 in July 1965. In #325, Cheryl Blossom made her second appearance after debuting in 'Archie's Girls Betty and Veronica' in the same month. The Jughead comic lasted until #352 June 1987. However, Jughead returned relaunched with a new #1 in August 1987. With issue #46 June 1993, the Jughead title was renamed 'Archie's Pal Jughead Comics' similar to the previous volume. With #46 Jughead finds out his mother is expecting. In #50 the baby girl, nicknamed 'Jellybean' is born. The second volume is still being published, now eight times a year. Jughead was a spin-off of Archie but has also featured spin-offs of his own.
