Jeffrey L. Bewkes is the President and COO of the Time Warner media conglomerate as of December 2005.
Bewkes was CEO of Home Box Office between 1995 and July 2002. Bewkes was president and COO of HBO between 1991 and 1995. Bewkes was CFO for HBO between 1986 and 1991. Prior to joining HBO he was an account officer for Citibank in New York. Before that, he was the operations director for Sonoma Vineyards, Inc. in Healdsburg, California.
Bewkes has a Stanford Graduate School of Business MBA degree and a Yale University BA. He is on the advisory boards for Stanford Graduate School of Business and Yale School of Management.
In January 2006, Bewkes and CBS Corporation head Les Moonves were instrumental in making the deal that brought together CBS-owned UPN with The WB to form the CW Network. Bewkes and Moonves have been friends since their heyday at Warner Bros. Entertainment with made the transaction very easy to go forward with.
