How to Write Content Letters
Basically what I do when I write a content email is start with something like this:
Hi (name of subscriber):
I just finished writing an article about (topic of the article) and thought you should read it.
If you are working on a strong Alexa ranking, or are using PPC to monetize your site, then put the article on one of your web pages, and put the link to the page here. Or if you are trying to drive the visitor count of a specific article in an article directory up, then put the link to the article on the article directory here. If not, you can reprint the article in the email itself.
Do not be salesy in this content email – it should be just that – a content email, and they should feel as though they received great value from reading the article.
Another note on that: only recommend your best and most informative articles.
How to Write Free Gift Email Letters
I like to keep these short and to the point. Generally my script will be simple, just like this:
Dear (name of subscriber):
Here is a free gift for you: (insert link to free gift)
Or:
Dear (name of subscriber):
I just found this useful product online, and have secured rights to it so I could give it to you free: (insert link to free gift)
Or:
Dear (name of subscriber):
I have just completed writing a short report on (insert topic of report) and thought you should read this: (insert link to free report)
